LOOKBOOK: PEPPER AND PISTOL

LOOKBOOK: PEPPER AND PISTOL

What happens when a quirky-funky fashion line tones it down?

If you’re familiar with Pepper & Pistol’s past collections, you might expect clown-print dresses and bright ruffled tops worthy of the tropics. But their new SS'10 collection, titled The Great Escape, offers simple silhouettes that seem more suited for Stella McCartney fans than their usual Katy Perry crowd.

The nautical themed clothing, from designers Katrin Wiens and Silvia Hillmann, has feminine touches such as draped necklines, embroidered blouses, and lots of sparkle. The pieces have lots of sequins, from the shiny anchor embellishments to the Neptune Dress covered in shiny discs of orange, red, and blue. There are even military details in the form of knitted epaulettes, chain tops, and a t-shirt with a sash across the chest.

See our favorite pieces from the collection below.
