There are two Americas: the one with hamburgers, hot rods, and Hollywood, and the one with towering pine trees, looming mountains, and shaggy buffalo.
Rachel Hawkes Cameron might hail from Canada, but she certainly knows which one has an everlasting appeal. The one-time architect has turned her creative talent toward jewelry design, launching a collection celebrating US iconography.
Dubbed BonFire, her series taps into Cameron’s Native American roots. The laser cut pendants range from a running wolf to a fringed teepee, all dressed up with nylon string and beads. In the short time since she’s debuted BonFire (which double as headpieces and bracelets), her pieces have been spotted around the necks of Leigh Lezark and Sarah Paxton.
Now, you can pick up a feathered necklace for yourself through the
BonFire Etsy store. Though their appropriateness at the Thanksgiving table could be debated, you can't argue with a campfire necklace when you're plotting a cross-country road trip.
