WILD AT HEART

WILD AT HEART

A new collection of necklaces inspired by the great outdoors.

There are two Americas: the one with hamburgers, hot rods, and Hollywood, and the one with towering pine trees, looming mountains, and shaggy buffalo.

Rachel Hawkes Cameron might hail from Canada, but she certainly knows which one has an everlasting appeal. The one-time architect has turned her creative talent toward jewelry design, launching a collection celebrating US iconography.

Dubbed BonFire, her series taps into Cameron’s Native American roots. The laser cut pendants range from a running wolf to a fringed teepee, all dressed up with nylon string and beads. In the short time since she’s debuted BonFire (which double as headpieces and bracelets), her pieces have been spotted around the necks of Leigh Lezark and Sarah Paxton.

Now, you can pick up a feathered necklace for yourself through the BonFire Etsy store. Though their appropriateness at the Thanksgiving table could be debated, you can't argue with a campfire necklace when you're plotting a cross-country road trip.

NYLON, I usually like most of the stuff you feature, but yeah not gonna lie, those are pretty ugly.

they are simple and look great in the photos with the model. I can see how some of these may not photograph as well independently, but they are really cute as part of a whole outfit. thanks nylon for making me look outside of the box, again!

This stuff appeals - it's the simplicity of the design, the clean modern look with a traditional theme. They're a perfect piece for guys at a time when pendants on men are 'in'....Thanks NYLON!

Oh wow! I actually have one of the feathers! I met the girl who makes them at Fashion week and bought one off her site, I basically haven't taken it off since, you can't really tell from the photos but the quality is really amazing. Thick lovely acrylic, people always ask if it's glass, if that gives you a better idea. I get tons of compliments on it. Good job Nylon! I'm glad to see these are getting attention (even if I'm a bit sad that it means I'll be less original)
