Can your new wardrobe be based on your old ballet class? Rachel says yes!
It's not a secret that grown women still like dressing like ballerinas - otherwise, American Apparel wouldn't make half their millions in leotards and tights.
But designer Rachel Antonoff has a new spin on the idea, one that involves pants woven like leg warmers, dresses cut with Capezio-inspired necklines, and a genuine conviction that girls should wear ballet flats with absolutely everything (though Repetto has already cornered her market on that one).
She's even enlisted the performance artist and dance enthusiast Sarah Sophie Flicker to appear in her 2010 look book, bringing home the point that her clothes aren't just cute - they're made to bust a move.
