Rachel Zoe, room service, and our favorite illustrator = ultimate hotel chic.
The Thompson Hotel Group has already had a cinema moment (the film Hotel Suite starring Olivia Wilde), a reality moment (Taylor and Brad’s priceless bitch-fight during Fashion Week in one of their rooms – broadcast to millions on The Rachel Zoe Project) and a rock moment (the Razorlight song "60 Thompson" recalls Kirsten Dunst’s lengthy residence in their halls). Now it’s time for their fashion moment, as Rogan, Helmut Lang, and rag & bone to create staff uniforms worthy of being best dressed.
The designers were asked to create looks for hotel staffers that mirrored the look of particular locations. Here on the East Coast, the ladies of Smyth Tribeca will wear rompers designed by Helmut Lang, while the staff of Thompson LES will sport empire-waist cocktail dresses and sleek black suits by Rogan.
Over on the West Coast, Jenni Kayne and Rachel Zoe created modern looks inspired by Old Hollywood glamour. Their creations have a minimal palette of chocolate and ivory, and offer playful bubble skirts for women and straight-legged pants and epaulette shirts for men.
The uniforms weren’t the only things to get the designer treatment,; all of the sketches were done by fashion week warrior and NYLON favorite, Blue Logan.
