We don't surf. We still like to wear the clothes, though.
Do you know the difference between an “a-frame” and “clidro?” Neither do we. Do you still have a scar from that one time when you slammed into the reef? We hope not. But lucky for us, Ksubi’s George Gorrow and Something Else’s Natalie Wood have successfully proved that looking surfer-chic doesn’t require knowing how to surf.
Born on the northern beaches of Sydney, their label, Insight Clothing, launched as a mere expansion of Australia’s successful Insight surfboard company. Unveiled in the late ‘90s, the brand produces laid-back clothing, often inspired by popular music and art of the moment – in fact, their Spring 2010 line includes graphics by six emerging artists.
The rest of the line still thrills, too. There are not-so basic cutout tees that pair perfectly with your favorite denim cutoffs, and slouchy mini-dresses that allow for hours of unrestricted dancing. Looks like our Coachella outfit has just been made.
