There are few things more All-American than Keds.
Since the canvas shoe was first launched in 1916 by the company US Rubber, it’s been worn by everyone from ‘50s sister Joanie Cunningham to perky cheerleader Kelly Kapowski to ‘90s child Stephanie Tanner—and those are just the fictional characters.
But the company’s collaboration with Opening Ceremony takes its heritage one step further, with a series of Americana Keds and Pro-Keds.
The collection, which launches online and in Opening Ceremony boutiques on September 10, features just about every red, white, and blue combination you can dream up. There are faded washes, bandana prints, and even the American classic, denim.
Which means that you don’t have to wait until July 4th to pull these kicks out of your closet.
