What was your initial reaction when you were first approached to be the new face of CoverGirl?
I was ecstatic. Honestly, I was speechless for a while. This is something I’ve been wanting my whole life—to be a CoverGirl is such an honor, and a huge accomplishment in my life and career.
The list of previous CoverGirl girls includes Rihanna, Drew Barrymore, and Keri Russell. Any favorites?
Ellen [Degeneres]! She is so cool, and seems really comfortable in her own skin. I love that!
What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?
LashBlast Mascara from CoverGirl. It’s the perfect mascara for all day, and it lasts into the night. It’s also perfect for a little flirting—not to mention the packaging is so pretty.
You’ve got five minutes to get ready for a party – what’s your makeup routine?
A good moisturizer, concealer, and CoverGirl’s Simply Ageless Cream Blush, which is easy to apply. Also, their Outlast Lip Stain adds the right amount of color, and it lasts a long time. And finally, my favorite, Lash Blast Mascara—after five minutes, I’m all set.
Are there any beauty tricks you’ve borrowed from the character you play on Heroes, Maya Herrera?
Cream blush—it’s my best friend! I wore it all the time for the character, and it always made me look revived after a long day of shooting.
Any other exciting projects you’re working on?
Last week I wrapped filming a new comedy pilot for Fox called The Station. Ben Stiller is producing, and it stars John Goodman. I had a blast shooting this project, and it gave me an opportunity to show my funny side.
