Nail polish brands have found inspiration in
Nickelodeon cartoons,
limited-edition sneakers, and
Beth Ditto. But this fall, they’re turning to a few anonymous writers.
Both Rescue Beauty Lounge and Barielle’s Shades are launching colors designed by beauty bloggers. While the three women behind
Scrangie.com,
AllLacqueredUp.com, and
PolishAddict.com might not be considered makeup professionals, their knowledge of the subject verges on the obsessive. Their daily posts detailing the latest polish launches haven’t just won them readers, but helped them develop unrivaled insight into the world of nail color. So who better to create a never-before-seen nail polish shade than the crew who have tried and tested them all?
The results are a testament to their insider knowledge; from a combat green crème to a metallic chartreuse to a iridescent purple shimmer, each of the 15 shades (three for Rescue Beauty Lounge, 12 for Shades) come straight from the file of “Colors we want right now.”
It’s like a blog update, without having to hit “refresh.”
