Ryan Gosling wants you to open for his band this fall.
Three things you probably didn’t know about Ryan Gosling:
1) He lived with Justin Timberlake during his stint on The Mickey Mouse Club.
2) He started a band called Dead Man’s Bones with his friend Zach Shields.
3) He’s going from acclaimed actor to talent show coordinator this fall.
Though it’s not some version of indie American Idol, Gosling and Shields are hitting the road this October for Dead Man’s Bones first tour. While they play their haunting pop songs in cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, and Portland, the duo will invite local bands to open for them. The band is organizing the entire thing, and screening the bands, so a spot onstage might be your chance to rub elbows with Gosling.
Of course, you won’t be the only one; the band will be joined by nearby choir groups, who’ll provide backing vocals. (The voices you hear on the band’s recorded material are from L.A.’s Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir.) No word yet if his longtime pal Timberlake will make a guest appearance...
