I’ve always been a bit confounded by one-brand allegiance; just because Uniqlo jeans fit me perfectly doesn’t mean that their dresses will, too. But Tokyo Milk might change all that.
The beauty company started with a charming collection of perfumes, and soon after introduced
lip balms,
travel soaps, bath bubbles, and even greeting cards. You’d think that casting such a wide net would dilute the brand, but instead, it’s just made it stronger. Now, Tokyo Milk is entering the world of makeup with a line of lipsticks that even the strictest anti-monopoly proponent will fall for.
The series features four universally flattering shades that keeps lips soft and protected, thanks to a bit of SPF 15 in the formula. Like Tokyo Milk’s other products, the lipstick tubes are hand wrapped in vintage-inspired paper. And because the company has a sense of humor (what else could explain naming a perfume Let Them Eat Cake?), every case comes with a package of mints.
Which means that you won’t just be indulging in some end-of-summer makeout sessions, but also letting Tokyo Milk take over your beauty cabinet. For sweet-smelling skin and, now, softly-shaded lips, it’s one very pretty allegiance.
