Want to be a designer? Start with some leggings.
Breaking into the fashion industry has always been rough, but in today's tangle of celebutantes and internet wars, there seems to be a formula:
1. Be a celebrity (see: Rachel Bilson for DKNY), be working for a celebrity (see: Rachel Zoe for Halston), or turn yourself into a fake celebrity (see: anyone on Project Runway).
2. Work for a major label for years, and then start your own line (see: Chris Benz, who came from Marc Jacobs; Prabal Guring, who came from Bill Blass).
3. Make amazing, affordable leggings.
At least, that was the trick for Jessie Faire, whose ShiboriLove tights are hand-dyed using a Japanese resist technique and therefore each one is uniquely one of a kind.
Following in the steps of Kova & T and LnA, she's making a name for herself with the catwalk crew one leg at a time. And because the leggings are $34 each, you'll get the handiwork of a couture house, with the price tag of an Urban Outfitters jaunt.

You know what im actually kinda over the leggings. They do look good but idk. Black leggings seem to be the only ones i can stand/like.

uh those "leggings" are gross looking ha, anybody that "thinks" that's fashion Would wear them. i wouldn't even wear them if it had a marc jacobs label, &i love marc jacobs. ha&what's up w/ the lil girls trying to sport them ha oh lord.

it is a cool idea and some of them really do look good but i don't think i'd actually wear those leggins. but i guess there are enough other people who'll wear them.
