Pinstripes go from the boardroom to the beauty aisle.
From Coco Chanel to Patti Smith, history is full of iconic women in suits. Blame it on social norms or style rules, but the clean, sharp lines of a well-tailored blazer is practically the code word for “power”.
Just ask the brains behind Prescriptives—this fall, the beauty brand is finding makeup inspiration in suiting. The collection, new for the season, features a pinstripe-covered shadow palette with five colors, as well as a finishing powder pressed to look like a strand of pearls. Included in the collection is a range of kohl liners and nude lip colors, whose colors are inspired by formalwear even if the packaging isn’t.
Like a suit, the collection is subtle yet strong; smoky eyes, luminous skin, and a strong lip let people know you’re in charge. It’s ironic, considering that the boardroom uniform is practically a symbol of masculinity, whereas a bit of rouge is the ultimate sign of femininity. But then again, style warriors like Marlene Dietrich and Annie Lennox have never been afraid of a bit of gender-bending.

In the beauty industry we always tend to find inspiration in the oddest of places...This however i dont think is that out of the ordinary.
When i think "menswear" I think of the Armani suits my ex used to have. To me the thought of "menswear" (aka: Business suits, CEO of a company ETC ETC) is sexy. Menswear in general are chic, fashionable and give off the high powered-successful-"on top of your own empire" vibe.
I think its a great thing.

It's a great inspiration, but you can achieve this look with any brand of makeup and not pay such a steep price. These are pretty common color palettes.
