LOOKBOOK: MULBERRY

The British standard goes impossibly street.

It's no secret we're major fans of international style - even our first book, Street, was a giant compilation of cool outfits around the world.

Now with the advent of Street Style TV, some fashion kids in London had an idea:  What if we take a new collection, shoot it on real girls, and reinvent the way that NYLON shows look books?

Our first shoot is Mulberry, the venerable British brand that's recently gotten some major infusions of cool thanks to artists like Julie Verhoeven and a new range of very cute clothes.

Here's Mulberry's Fall '09 collection, as seen in Camden, Sainsbury Supermarket, and Kensington High Street, London.  Like the shoot itself, all the outfits and accessories were made in the UK.

love the tights and the way you match them with the mini dresses. So London the makeup and the hair.

The outfits, stage, makeup, hair, and colors are cool. Not so sure about the model (Georgina Bacchus),Alexandra is fine.

London does it right. These look like 'real' girls and not just poser-y models trying to pull a 'look' off.

Not sure about any of this. The photos have nothing unique about them, very drab, straight up amateur without even having a faux amateur style to them. I don't think the models look any good, the poses are awful. In some they're smiling and in some they are trying the moody look. I don't understand what is trying to be put across here. I can only agree that it looks very London because there is an obvious tube sign in one and a Natwest in another. Sorry, but this is my opinion.
