SNOW COOL

SNOW COOL

Original Penguin goes back up the mountain

In late 2004, a pop culture icon came out of his shell clad in perfectly pressed stripes and v-neck sweaters. This cute comic-loving geek, also known as The O.C.’s Seth Cohen, became better known for the small penguin insignia on his chest than his love affair with Captain Oats.

Original Penguin, the brand responsible for the beachy-prep craze, takes up a different climate in their collaboration with K2 Snowboarding. The line of snowboards, boots, and bindings will together be known as “The Slayblade” even though it’s not a Marvel comic book.

The Slayblade was designed with fabric swatches from Original Penguin’s archive, and built with Harshmellow, a synthetic polymer that cushions the inside of the board’s boots, which share the same color palette as the boards.
Although the July release in North America and Europe may seem too early, we suggest you check them out before the Seth Cohen’s of the world trade in their skateboards for snowboards.
