If your family came to America through Ellis Island, they may have had to change their name in the process. So, too, did Nivea lip balms, which finally migrate from France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, and Israel to America.
Known across the ocean as Labello, the Nivea balms come in plain, beach (a yellow tube with extra SPF), pearl (imagine Chapstick with pink shimmer), and flavors like pomegranate and cherry.
They're cheap (about $3.50), they're invading CVS, and your friends in Paris can't ever taunt you with their Labello stashes again. Their heaps of Repetto flats from Colette, however, are another situation altogether.
