Statement pieces can turn a tee-and-jeans into a runway ensemble (witness our love affair with Ricky and Dee Lego brooches, Marlaina stone skull-and-amethyst necklaces, and Kid Robot's collaboration with Tarina Tarantino). But sometimes, you want "normal" jewelry to wear every day.
For that, we've turned to Seattle artist Jenny Vorwaller, whose shooting stars are made of delicate hand-hammered metal, and priced at about $25 each.
Along with her starry staples, Vorwaller's collection - dubbed Natural Historie - includes stamped gold faces, feather pendants, and colored metal and stone necklaces inspired by Native American traditions.
Vorwaller's latest creation, Elias Gray, was born three weeks ago on the West Coast. You can read all about him, and buy Jenny's jewelry, on
True Nature, her blog.
