ALL FOR ONE

ALL FOR ONE

Alexandra Grecco sends her charming rompers over the rainbow.

Whether you call them rompers, playsuits, or onesies, nothing compares to the ease of wearing a one-piece. There's just something about having your top and shorts sewn together that makes you feel ready for a picnic...and like you can worry about the logistics of using the bathroom later.

Problem is, for all their charming details, rompers can get pricey (see: Who Put The Romp, our roundup of designer one-pieces that retail, on average, for $300). Enter Alexandra Grecco, a 25 year old designer/ photographer/ actress (everybody's got a few slashes in their title, right?) whose rompers all land around $90 but look way more expensive.

Grecco cites her grandma's bags of vintage clothes as the impetus for her designs, and it certainly shows: she nails '50s silhouettes and fabrics, including halter tops and high waisted shorts in gingham and ruffly lace. Jenny Lewis would probably do a sequel to The Wizard just to wear these on tour.

Click over to her Etsy store to see the whole collection -- you know she won't be "up-and-coming" for long.

These look vintage and not in a good way. The rainbow plaid one reminds me of a clown's costume-the collar atleast. And red checks are always going to look like a tablecloth. I like rompers, but I would not wear these. Save them for the circus.

the first few ones are cute..definitely good for a casual summer day. some of them are hideous, though. the second to last one reminds me of some bad eighties dance outfit I'd find from my mom's junior high days.

OBSESSED!! I have purchased 3 vintage rompers this season. I wear them all the time and always get compliments on them. These remind me of them and I love that. The fabrics are really fun too!

Gorgeous designs, i am dying for the second design above; the white mini dress, but its not on the Etsy store, does anyone know where I could find out more about it?

all are adorable, I'm a big fan of rompers. the only one I have a problem with is the 7th one, it looks out of proportion maybe? like a 15 year old thinking they can fit into a onesie and tutu. Also, I can't decide whether to love the fourth one or not. I absolutely hate clowns, and that is what it reminds me of. The first one is my favorite though, deffinitely precious. I preffer h&m prices though!(; Smart girl though, I should really start designing for the public. Maybe nylon will be featuring my diy designs one day, never know!
