Anna Sui's new collection for Target pays tribute to the past...
Target says their new Go! International collection, with youthquake designer Anna Sui, was inspired by Gossip Girl.
And while we definitely see hints of Vanessa, Blair, Serena, and Little J in the recently-leaked look book, we've got our own idea about where the clothes came from:
Anna Sui's most beloved past runways!
Have a look at the Target clothes and the Anna Sui runway photos below, then breathe a sigh of relief: If you missed the boat the first time, greatest A.S. hits like The Pirate Dress, The Boho Print, and the Square Print Shift can be yours once again - and most for under $50.
The only catch: You've got to wait until September, when the clothes hit stores, and the new episodes of your favorite TV addiction hit The CW for Season 3.

Like someone above said, I was ecstatic when I saw the name, but the clothes are so so. I don't live anywhere near a target (Canada) and I won't be making an effort too for this collection. The inspiration seems kind of tired...Gossip Girl really?

this is a perfect example of a designer being lazy and reusing patterns. also points out how overrated and unnecessarily expensive designer clothing can be. don't get me wrong... i love fashion. just not when someone's trying to pull the wool over my eyes!

while I really like the clothes, it is disappointing that she put no effort behind it. its not even vintage anna sui. its 3 years old anna sui. if you are going to give something that is so inspired from your own runway, why not do current season or at least great vintage, iconic pieces.

I LOVE Ana Sui, but I have to agree with some others, these dresses are'nt my favorites, I think they're a little typical looking. Not sure I'll by purchasing these....hopefully there will be some better options. Btw, I love the fact that target and the participoating designers do these less expensive collections, I personally can't afford the runway versions!

isnt it kind of classless to market your own pre-gossip girl the show inspired looks as made exclusively for gossip girl just for the money? i won't be buying, nor will any of my friends. we'd rather have our own look than try to be blair waldorf.

I think it's fine that she doesn't put as much effort into her Target collection as she does for her RTW collections that show at Fashion Week. Why waste time and energy on a collabo for a discount store (though I do love Target)?
Also, Go designers tend to reuse their designs. Thakoon, for example, used the exact same prints as he did for one of his spring collections (2008? I think?). And Jonathan Saunders' ombre top for Target kind of looked like another ombre top he made for one of his RTW pieces.
I'm glad that Target got someone like Anna Sui to design for them but I hate Gossip Girl and I don't like the fashion in Gossip Girl either. The collection looks like Forever 21 stuff, so I'll pass.

The collection is so beautiful! The looks are really similar to Anna Sui's runway outfits. However the model wearing the blue dress is Anne Watanabe...not Du Juan.

Gossip Girl. I heard of that show but I've never seen an episode and don't plan to. I'm not really into that teenage drama. I have better things to do w/ my time. I did like anna sui's Target stuff though. Yea, since it is Target I would think her things would be more simplified. I really like the white Target dress she did but I'm debating to get it. I always wanted a white or ivory or lace dress but I don't like the idea of getting caught with another girl wearing it. I don't shop Target clothes so I think I'll have to pass.
