We thank the 80's for the eccentricity it brought us: Neon spandex, The Cosby Show, Eurythmics and the moonwalk. Along with those came Pacman, originally named Puckman. However with a quick change of 'P' to 'F' they realized the name easily became PG-13.
Since the creation of the notorious little guy, who we try to keep safe from ghosts and feed with fruit. The digital sport became popular for it's funky critters and the indefinite number of levels, though some say getting past the 255th level is impossible, ( I say - "Get out more!"). Either way, the bodiless dude has successfully kept his claim of celebrity since his 1980 debut.
Now he's back in collaboration with Uniqlo for a company on company grueling competition. Such corporations as Hypebeast and Giant Robot are among the competitors. The businesses will first compete online for the beginning round, and then rival in the finales for the ultimate Pacman crown at Uniqlo's Soho location (on June 19th).
The best part? Thirty spots for the final round have been saved for the public. So if you often find yourself at the 255th level, hurry up and rsvp so that you can kick some corporate ass.
