Running around town smelling like whisky? Not sexy. Running around town smelling like our new favorite whisky inspired cologne? Very sexy.
Thierry Mugler’s new scent, A*MEN Pure Malt, is a men’s cologne that reminds us a little of John Leguizamo in To Wong Fu… surprisingly sweet and girly. The scent is a bit like Mugler’s most famous fragrance, Angel: a mix of honey, chocolate, and patchouli, but softer and spicier.
But this time around, Mugler adopts an interesting technique to intensify his original formula: The cologne is aged in oak casks, like the fine whiskies that inspired the scent, making pure malt whisky one of the main notes of the cologne.
If wearing a men’s cologne inspired by a bar sounds odd to you, don’t think you’re alone. But when we smelled the blend of patchouli, cedar wood, and pure malt, we were sold. Bonus: you can share it with your boyfriend.

haha i think its such a bad idea, i mean no offense but normally with perfumes you want to smell good and other people compliment your choice of perfume, but with this whiskey perfume people are gonna think you just walked out of a bar, and your only gonna attract drunk men with it on!! lmao

well, i like it.
except that it's cheaper to spritz some actual whisky,
even if A*MEN Pure Malt smelled great and reminded me of taking advantage of hot drunk guys, i might be afraid of feeling a little pretentious wearing it- i mean buying perfume to smell like whisky...
but i like it.

I think this is a dispicable idea and that all of the people who think that this is "sexy" or "delicious" should get their heads examined. There is nothing sexy about smelling like you drink too much. Alcoholism is not chic. It is sad. As someone who is married to a recovering alcoholic and had to deal with all the shit before recovery, the fact that people like this idea and want to buy this makes me sick.
