There’s a time and a place for deep, spicy fragrances—and summer isn’t usually one of them. Instead, as hems and temperatures rise, the impulse to spray oneself in something light and airy is about as natural as craving Sno Cones all day long.
Which is were Sula comes in. The brainchild of Susanne Lang, the perfume collection takes our favorite memories of summer vacation, and puts them in a bottle.
There’s Blackberry Blush, a sweet but tart blend of blackberry, freesia, and vanilla, Butterfly Kiss, a Gap Heaven-inspired mix of peony, gardenia, and sheer musk, and the office favorite Champagne Sugar, which features notes of grapefruit, cotton candy, and—you guessed it—champagne. Even the prices are reflective of what we’d pay for a bottle of perfume back when we were 13.
If The Like endorsed a fragrance, or
The Virgin Suicides had a perfume, it just might be Sula. Just be careful: A few spritzes and you just might convince yourself that summer vacations still exist.
