We go through a lot of lookbooks in the NYLON office (there’s an entire file cabinet devoted to them), but few got us the way Sretsis’ fall ’09 collection did.
The colors, the cuts, the prints, the styles…it was like someone read our minds, and then re-imagined it in Technicolor.
In just three short years, Pim Sukhahuta has turned Sretsis into the go-to label for girls looking to have some fun while they dress up. The name itself is a bit of word play, since it actually spells “sisters” backwards. As Sukhahuta often does with her collection (started when she was still a student at Parsons), for fall she takes classic looks and gives them a not-so-classic spin; the cropped jacket gets tails, the high-waisted skirt gets exposed zippers, the silk dress gets psychedelic, and the schoolboy blazer gets pink.
The entire line will make you want to go out and play hopscotch—after doing a round of shots, of course. As for the lookbook (which doubles as a flip book, with the model turning and twisting as you go through the pages)? Don't expect it to be filed away anytime soon.
