GIMME GUMMI

GIMME GUMMI

Our favorite new Japanese import is magically delicious.

Things we like from Japan:

Hello Kitty.  Bathing Ape.  Sashimi.  Jill Stuart Cosmetics.

And now one more:

The Gummi Girls from Yoshimoto Nara.  Available at the Mori Museum in Tokyo, and online in the United States, the Gummi Girls are plastic canisters shaped like Japanese cartoon sprites, and filled with candy.  They retail for about $32 per jar, and once the sweet treats are gone, you can use the shell to hold your jewelry, makeup, or CDs.

The girls come in five color ways, but the candy inside is the same flavor: a simple jelly syrup that translates pretty easily into "sugar high."
