NAILED IT

NAILED IT

Nars revisits tried-and-true favorites in a blast from their polish past.

Nothing makes a beauty junkie’s stomach curdle like the word “discontinued.”

Years of work—trying out new colors, testing new formulas, searching for the perfect product—can be gone in an instant, and unless you have the foresight to hoard your favorite products, you might never have the chance to use it again.

That’s certainly been the case for fans of Nars nail polish, since the beauty brand has been continuously cycling colors out of commission. But their hoarding days might be winding down: Nars’ latest polish collection is Vintage 2009, featuring five long-lost colors from previous series.

There’s “Blue Lagoon” (a soft shimmery blue), “Hunger” (a punchy coral red), “Zizi” (a sheer gold-spiked shimmer), “Tallulah” (a not-too-light, not-too-dark purple), and “Cha Cha Cha” (a bright gold). Looking at the series, it’s no surprise that these are the colors Nars is bringing back, since each is wearable enough that you could rock it for a week, but unique enough that you don’t already own anything like it.

Just don’t get too comfortable; the colors are all limited edition, so they’ll be gone before you can say, “I loved that color!”
