“What’s your sign?” was a pick-up line I thought died years ago, along with wrap-around sunglasses and velour sweatsuits.
But on a recent outing, I was approached by a guy who pulled it on me. I thought it was a ploy—but we ended up talking about our horoscopes for nearly 30 minutes.
So are we re-entering the Age of Aquarius (and Gemini and Scorpio and Leo…)?
Jessica Kagan Cushman thinks so. The jewelry designer, best known for her scrimshaw bangles, just released a series of Zodiac-inspired cuffs. Rather than go the cliché route, with a picture of a crab or a set of twins, Cushman reached for the stars; each bracelet features a crystal-covered constellation.
Unlike her usual collection, these bracelets go for well under $100 each—put another way, it’s about the same price as a session with an astrologer. And while it serves as a conversation-starter, you can also use it to gracefully end one; the next time you’re asked, “What’s your sign?” just raise your fist.
