Celebs building an online presence is nothing new.
Lindsay updates her MySpace page. Ashton tweets all day long. Gwyneth sends out email newsletters.
But Michel Gondry is taking it one step further.
The French director and screenwriter just re-launched his website,
michelgondry.com. But rather than blog, he’s turned it into an online emporium.
There are comic books “packed with everything from death to friendship and guns to Mia Farrow,” there are DVDs available exclusively through the site, there are memoirs. But because this is the same guy who came up with
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, there is also more personal ephemera for sale. Think a roll of toilet paper covered in Gondry’s doodles, or your portrait signed by the director.
Best of all, everything is under $20, so you can get the disaster calendar from
The Science of Sleep for less than the price of a movie ticket. Let’s see GOOP top that.
