What’s in a name? If you’re Revolution Organics, everything.
When the beauty company launched last year, it actually was revolutionary; unlike other brands boasting eco-friendly ingredients, Revolution Organics actually received the hard-to-get USDA seal of approval (the same one you see on your organic apple). It’s the highest level of organic certification you can get in the US, which makes sense if you’re going to be eating it—or putting it on your body.
Now, they’re spreading the green gospel with a new line of makeup products. The first collection features the Freedom Glow beauty balm, an all-in-one stick that you can use on your lips, cheeks, eyes, and body, and the Freedom Gloss, a vitamin-rich formula that treats your lips while it gives them a healthy dose of color. Although the balm is somewhat hard to use (especially if you’re trying to get it on your lips), the gloss was an office-wide winner; shades like the soft pink “Truth” give you that flushed color you wished you woke up with.
But just because Revolution Organics is adding makeup to its series of skin crèmes and balms doesn’t mean they’re changing their formula; the Freedom Collection products are all free of synthetic chemical, parabens, mineral oils, and other artificial ingredients.
In fact, the only downside is that you’ll have to wait until April 22—yes, that’s Earth Day—until they actually come out. Let’s hope that patience comes as naturally to you as beauty does.
