One might not see a correlation between Dove's Real Beauty Campaign and the women of
Gossip Girl, but on Monday, April 27th, that could change.
It's when Dove launches their new campaign, a series of mini-documentaries featuring actual
femme fatales whose real lives (and outfits) overlap with Blair, Serena, Vanessa, and Jenny.
The "documercials" promote Dove's new Go Fresh Body Wash in Burst (it's orange and smells like nectarines). They'll air each week during Gossip Girl, with additional footage on
Dove's website, featuring Sophomore's Chrissy Miller as the downtown fashion designer, and our own style director Dani Stahl filling the role of The It Girl, aka Serena Van Der Woodsen.
"But obviously, that show is mostly fiction," says Dani. "I mean, I grew up on the Upper East Side, but my mom would never have let me wear the outfits Serena has! Plus, I've had a job or an internship since I was a teenager, and I've been working full-time at NYLON for almost nine years. See, real gossip girls have
jobs."
