TWO OF A KIND

You asked for it, you got it: Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby for NYLON.

A few months ago, your comments started coming. 

“I’d like to see more smart young actresses like Olivia Thirlby.”
“YES! KAT DENNINGS IS SOOO BEAUTIFUL!”

So when it came time to do our annual Young Hollywood issue – the same one that’s introduced Ellen Page, Kristen Stewart, and Leighton Meester to you in years past – we knew the mission to cover them was clear.  So here are the actresses Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby, in all their gorgeous, cool, young, smart, please-put-them-in-NYLON glory.

Olivia, on her first wardrobe malfunction:
“It was this little strapless, shiny pink snakeskin dress with a big white fur coat, and a pink boa.”

Kat, on calling Carrie Bradshaw “fucking fabulous” on Sex and the City:
“ I had no idea what [the show] was… I was reading at the audition and just having a good time.  Then on the cab ride home, my mom and I saw a billboard for it the size of a building… It was an explicit episode.  Kyle McLachlan jerking off… my parents were like, oh Jesus Christ, don’t look!”

Olivia, on being hated by Wackness fans.
“We did a big press tour for the movie and every guy was like, I hate you!... but shit happens!  He was the one who went and fell in love with after knowing her for, like, two weeks!”

Kat, on Hollywood women.
“People are obsessed.  Like, do you have anything better to do than not eat and go to the gym, you freak?  I mean, ask any size zero twit if she’s read a book lately.”
