Britney may have been wrong about the red bodysuit and shaved head incident, but she was onto something when she sang, “I’m not a girl, not yet a woman.”
Take your skin: You’ve grown out of the teen acne thing, but aren’t ready for thick creams promising to erase your non-existent wrinkles. Well, Britney’s back and now, so is skincare for in-between skin.
Biore’s Skin Preservation collection features five streamlined products to help tackle basic beauty problems, like dry skin, uneven tone, and loss of radiance. All of the products feature botanic ingredients, from the cool (white tea extract to calm skin) to the weird (golden root, yeast, and sugar to keep eyes moisturized). We might not have the face of a ten-year-old, but we have the attention span of one, so all of the products aren’t your run-of-the-mill drugstore duds. The Dual Fusion moisturizer spits out a white and green SPF-infused lotion, See The Future comes with a super-precise tip, so you won’t be wasting the eye cream with unnecessary smears, and Even Smoother is a microderm exfoliator with the very same superfine alumina crystals you find at your local spa.
An informal testing, during which I put products on one hand and not the other, resulted in surprisingly shocking results: the exfoliator really got rid of flaky skin, the night cream really did have dissolving Vitamin E beads, and the moisturizer really left my skin soft but not greasy.
It might not have given me the wisdom of age or the fearlessness of youth, but with the products running in under $15 each, nice skin is all I need.
