HOW SUI IT IS

HOW SUI IT IS

The designer's new limited-edition artist-designed T-shirt collection is every bit as Anna as we'd expect.

Anna Sui’s Dolly Girl meets the New York Dolls aesthetic long ago won our hearts. But the artsy designer has her eyes set on the work of others. Under the Anna Sui umbrella, a new line of limited-edition T-shirts feature the designs of a few of her favorite artists. From Chooch (a.k.a. Dean Landry), creator of Sui’s signature ‘Anna caricature’, to iconic poster-pop-artist Frank Kozik, to rock star-cum-record label founder James Iha, the 16 illustrators, painters, and one Pumpkin have a collection of tees that are, well, as Sui as can be.

The whole t-shirt trend is definiely becoming a little overwhelming and almost, almost a little "eh, okay, we've seen it now please do something new" but I have to say I'd actually consider buying one of these because it in fact IS something a little bit different. The whole House of Holland-boom came and is on it's way out as copies are printed up left and right. Thank goodness talented Anna Sui didn't go for big text logos and instead actually put her creativity to use in creating these amazing t-shirts. My favorites are the guitar-girla and the "poster".
