Remember last year, when that random reality star launched a hair care line - and it was amazing? It got us thinking: what if we test every product we see on TV, and let you know how it goes?
And so we introduce
As Seen On TV, the new NYLON feature where we stop being nice, and start being real - at least about the PedEgg, Chia Pet, and everything else on Nick at Nite.
Up first, the curl creams of Nick Arrojo, who does the hair on
What Not to Wear. Sure, his makeover clients look great on TLC, but how about when a normal girl (me) uses them in the bathroom?
Let's rate on three criteria:
Look: My curly hair looks really good. No frizz, no poufy Marie Antoinette antics. Good deal.
Feel: When I toss my head, the hair is loose - no stiff spray-on effects. That's great, but when I touch it, there's a slight crunch.
Value: The curl cream is $17, the styling cream is $15. Definitely more expensive than a drugstore drop-in, but if you've got curly hair, you know the right product goes a long way. Also: cheaper than a season iTunes pass to
Gray's Anatomy.
Overall: I'm not going to frizz out. This is a very good thing.
Stay tuned next week, when we try Proactive. Lindsay Lohan may endorse it... but will we?
