A vegan hair care line kicks its chemical habit.
There’s a big difference between being vegan and being eco-friendly. I found this out the hard way when, while working on a story about going animal-free, a raw food friend berated me for using beauty products that were chock-full of chemicals.
While it was a bit extreme, her argument made sense – what’s the point of eschewing animal by-products if the replacement is just as bad for the environment?
It’s a question that Samy has clearly wrestled with. The beauty brand, known for its vegan line Samy Pure, had some of the best hair products on the market, but they also came along with hard-to-pronounce ingredients. So the company went back to the lab, reformulated its collection, and came up with Esencia, a vegan-friendly and earth-friendly line of products.
While ingredients range from macadamia to marshmallow, the results are undeniable; the volumizing shampoo will leave you with silky locks, while the styling crème keeps frizzy hair at bay. Unlike other brands, which loosely throw around terms like “all-natural” and “organic” without any proof, Esencia tells you exactly what percentage of the product is natural and which ingredients are organic.
Don’t let the big brown bottles (a far cry from Samy’s trademark neon packaging) deter you—there’s nothing ugly about all-natural beauty products that are as good for animals as they are for your hair.

i personally use esencia products and they are totally amazing...i have natural kniky hair so when i add the volumizing shampoo in my hair it really vamps my hair up...its totally amazing!
