POWDER TO THE PEOPLE

Frederic Fekkai won't tell anyone that you wash your hair once a week.

You can officially welcome Frederic Fekkai into the secret society of dry shampoos.

Joining hair powder classics from the likes of Bumble & bumble, Oscar Blandi, and Klorane, Fekkai is putting its own twist on the cult favorite product (which allows you to cleanse hair without actually washing it) with the release of Au Naturel Powder Clean Dry Shampoo.

Rather than use harsh chemicals, Fekkai realized that the best way to cleanse hair is to use clean ingredients. The resulting powder is free of sulfates, parabens, dyes, and synthetic fragrances. Instead, natural cotton fibers, corn, and rice starch help to mop up oil and dirt. The bottle itself is made of 40-percent recycled materials, making it almost as eco-friendly as the product inside.

Another difference? Unlike many other dry shampoos, this one has a nozzle tip, so that you can direct the powder more easily (and not deal with getting it all over your clothes).

Which means that you can cut down your morning prep time, cut down your use of chemicals in your beauty routine, and cut down your trips to the dry-cleaner. No word yet on whether instant world peace is also a result of using the product, but we can keep our fingers crossed—and our hair dry—in the meantime.

I have been all about the powder the hair trick for years thanks to alarm clocks that won't function properly and powerful morning distractions. So all I gotta say is; dry shampoo, AMEN!!!!

I never knew about powder shampoo... I'm going to see if I can scrounge up enough money to get some... I don't want to wake up at 5:00 anymore for school! Haha

So...what color does it come in? How do you apply it? Just rub into the scalp? Sounds interesting! Any scent? This would be a great way to get rid of cigarette smell when you've been around smokers!

Why would a shampoo company advocate not washing your hair? Dry shampoo is old and messy.
