SNOW PATROL
It's never too early to start dressing for the 2010 Olympics.
You all know Shaun White, aka “the flying tomato,” as one of the world’s top pro snowboarders, or at least from the NYLON Guys Summer ‘08 cover. Now he trains for the upcoming Vancouver Olympics in 2010, with a team uniform designed by Burton Snowboards.
Founder and chairman Jake Burton wants the US Olympic team to shred past the competition, but also to “represent the riders, the sport and the U.S.A. in an authentic way.” The look completely challenges old conservative Olympic uniforms with an unexpected vintage design, “expressing the individuality of snowboarding,” while incorporating all the highest technical elements.
If you don’t watch the Olympics for the sport, at least watch it for the style: Now you can find out what Emile Hirsch would have looked like in Lords of Dogtown, if it were shot in the snow!
