FREE AND CLEAR

A bottle of Suave can magically be yours... for free.

If you're aching for a beauty fix but don't want to back it up with cash, you're in luck: today Suave releases a zillion bottles of product on the masses, and you can have one for free.

Go to their website, send your name and address, and wait by the mail for about a week.  There's no catch, just - in the words of Suave - "our belief that you can live beautifully for less."

Lest you doubt that, here's a fun fact: yesterday as we sorted through expensive conditioners on Rebecca's desk, I said, "You know what's the only detangler that works in my hair?  Suave."

No, seriously, I swear.

Speaking as a cosmetologist...I would never use Suave even though you are giving it out for free. 1. the shampoo's pH level is through the roof and 2. all that their conditioner does is "coat" the hair to make it feel like it's conditioned. Now if you were giving out free salon conditioner... And yes I realize not everyone can afford salon quality products but, as a fashion magazine you shouldn't be promoting hair products that aren't healthy.

Pantene Pro-V or even off the shelf John Freida is what I've recommended to customers if they don't want to pay much. But really, higher quality products mean higher quality hair...

err cool? dollar store shampoo? ew. suave makes hair feel icky. even sunsilk and herbal essences feel like pampering compared to this stuff.

I'm not a huge fan of Suave either, but hey, if it's free, I'll take it.

um, speaking as a different cosmetologist Sauve is Highly Not Recommended. Jeeze. Ad something like international brands or Redken or Matrix. Girls can get their hands on that too. the price is worth it.

and to add on to this I wouldn't suggest pantene or dove for hair either. they are also horrible for your hair and it just kills me stacey london from what not to wear endorses pantene when in reality we all know she doesn't use that crap. but whatever they're probably paying her damn well. i was told in beauty school that tresseme was actually alright if you wanted something inexpensive.

Obviously, some of you chicas have never had to choose between shampoo and lunch.

If I was in the position to have to choose shampoo or lunch...I'm obviously going to choose lunch. I think shampoo would be one of the last things on my mind. Not only that but people who are hungry probably aren't going to spend what little money they have on a Nylon magazine.

Who needs to buy it? Do you need to be at home to read?

@ Lauren, I agree with you 100% on both topics. Free is free.
