When models walked the Christian Dior fall ’08 runway, it wasn’t the clothing that first caught our attention; instead, it was the
Valley of the Dolls-inspired eyes. Yes, they were totally over-the-top, but there was also something quite fantastic about a bright coating of color on lids.
If you don’t have Pat McGrath on-call, consider Urban Decay’s Cream Shadow your at-home makeup artist. New for spring, the cosmetics company fine-tuned their older, discontinued cream shadow formula. Second time’s the charm, it seems, since the gel-based shadows strikes the perfect balance between thick coverage and sheer shimmer.
The 12 shades go from a light peach (see: “Midnight Rodeo”) to a bright cream (see: “Radium”), although you can amp up or tone down the color as you apply. There are even a few vegan-friendly shades in there, including—surprise!—“Mushroom” and “Grass”. It’s easy to get a fresh, dewy look, but why would you want that if you could cover your lids from lash to brow in acid green or neon purple?
