THE DARKEST HOURS

THE DARKEST HOURS

Sienna Miller loses her mind in a new music video.

When a celeb makes an appearance in a music video, it usually means she’ll either be doing a dance or making out in front of the Eiffel Tower, not going crazy in a Prada store.

But Sienna Miller goes that extra mile in the music video for The Hours’ single, “See The Light”. She runs around in a hospital gown, throwing around designer shoes and smearing cow’s blood across a wall. The video is so disturbing that it should come with a warning, but the shock tactics aren’t that surprising. After all, both American History X director Tony Kaye and art world joker Damien Hirst had a hand in it.

Between the mental illness, crucified cattle, and general hysterics displayed on film, it’s hard to pay attention to the lulling music. If you are able to focus, and like what you hear, starting today you can download the song from iTunes. But if the only thing you like is Sienna’s performance, you’re out of luck—no matter how hard she tries, there’s no way she can win an Oscar for a music video performance.

I thinks it's not that bad. I just have to admit that she's done nice job playing craziness..

What a waste of precious life. Smearing cow's blood all over the walls? Can Hollywood not come up with a friendly alternative? I'm not impressed.

She did an amazing portrayal. I was never a viewer of Sienna, but I do give her mad props for this.

I disagree with everything becca willa davis (no capitals for her) wrote above. The promo doesn't detract from the song but kept me watching and introduced me to The Hours for the first time. Very cool. Experimental in tone and length...like it alot. We need more of this. Snaps to Tony Kaye.

I just wasted 7 minutes and 40 seconds of my life. That was idiotic.

That was definitely a bullshit attempt at looking dark and avant-garde. And the speaking parts? Are you trying to make me vomit?

i didn't like the cow blood part, but i think she totally nailed being insane. piece of art, plus the music was wicked.

Video was fine. Reviewer overly sensitive or successful at a calculated publicity prompt...."Whatever you do, don't look at this:", O.K., now I have to. In art anything goes and crazy helps. Enjoy the work of Damien Hurst and Jenny Saville, just to name a couple.

I cant bring myself to believe that those are real cows. Hopefully they're not but I think I just went vegetarian. Interesting video.

i actually was really impressed. it was a different kind of music video. i really liked how the hanging cows resembled the crucifix of jesus and the two criminals. one complaint it was very long.

That was so dumb and made no sense. Why would some crazy person in a hospital gown be allowed in a store like that. I agree with Samantha who said that it was a bullshit attempt at looking dark and avant-garde. People who like this video are most likely blinded by the fact that there is a famous face in it. The music was alright. And I'd have to say my favorite part was the end. I did like the visual through the MRI (?) machiene.

i actually didn't like that one bit. the music was pretty good, but i really don't think she did a good job playing crazy. the whole thing just didn't make sense.

the video was okay, it bore me a bit. the song is pretty cool, i don't get how the two go together though. maybe i was too distracted with sienna going crazy to grasp the entire song :/

The music was alright, but like several other people pointed out, it's a poor attempt at seeming "artsy" and "dark." And the talking part was just annoying. My favorite part was the end, only because it meant it was finally over.

It was interesting. To me, it showed how society can drive you insane. I'm assuming that the crucified cow was a reference to animal cruelty and religion?? And the scene with the expensive purses and shoes was to show consumerism at its most extreme?? I feel the same disgust on a daily basis.

ew. failed attempt at art if you ask me. the music was great but whoever decided on making that video was a few beats off..crazy person, not a horrible idea, where they went with it, not beliveable or well acted. (but sienna is a pretty face)

i loved it. the music was enchanting and video was well executed. siennas acting was great and put you in her place, forcing you to find similarities. made the song come to life

please don't tell me those cows are real! i didn't really like the song. Sienna's gorgeous but i think the speaking parts were cheesy.

Bad music, who cares about Sienna Miller anyway?

Nana

YAWN, i found this tame. i expected something more disgusting. oh well... the music wasn't the too bad and the speaking part was VERY cringe worthy and corny.

she looks so stupid this is just horrible it takes away from the song 100%, it would be good but i cant listen to it without relating it to the video

MAGDALENA

the song is so good! but the music video is just trying so hard to be deep and meaningful, yet failing miserably. it just didn't even make sense...
