DRY CLEAN ONLY

DRY CLEAN ONLY

Lulu Organics gives you one more reason to sleep in.

Using hair powder is a bit like joining a secret society—you either get it, or you don’t. For some, the idea of shaking a tube of white flakes onto greasy hair seems a bit counterintuitive, to say the least. But if you’ve ever tried it, you know that a good hair powder can do amazing things to a head of unwashed hair.

Though there are plenty of great options—Klorane, Oscar Blandi, and Bumble & bumble all have very respectable hair powders—if you’re judging a bottle by its cover, you can’t beat Lulu Organics. The company, which takes a holistic approach to beauty, has been winning over dirty girls with its homemade blends (like one powder, which is a mix of lavender and clary sage). And now, new for the holiday season, Lulu Organics has come out with a travel size tube of powder.

At just 1 oz., you can easily squeeze it into your luggage or carry it around in your gym bag. And for the hair powder virgins out there, you’ll feel a bit better about trying hair powder when it costs just $9.50 (rather than the $40 that a full-size bottle fetches). Although we seriously doubt you'll be able to put down the tube once you start.

Consider this your club initiation...

When I had blonde hair I would use baby powder ALL the time. I think at a certain point I went about a month or so without washing my hair. Not everyone approved of course but my laziness sure did. Even without using powder greasy hair is still pretty awesome. So far I'm rocking 5 day old hair and I dig it.

I'm blonde too, and I have curly hair, but a straight-style. So I HAAAATE washing my hair. Other girls like me totally get going days without a hair wash, but some people think it's totally gross. I must say though, powder shampoo kicks baby-powders ass!

hooray for unwashed but still rad hair! i highly recommend john masters organics sea salt spray. it costs about $13, lasts FOREVER, and has the exact same oil-zapping effect as hair powder. plus it's easier to control; just spray it at the roots and blast with a hair dryer to set. cheers!

Its funny. I have wavy/curly hair. My hair is really healthy its all natural I hardly put any products. My boy loves my hair straight so when i straighten my hair I try to not was it for 2 days, after the third day it starts getting oily, so I have to wash it again :( I didnt have a clue that products like these existed. Thanks for the hints.

I think it depends on your hair type- i can go days without washing my hair and it looks fine (or better), but one of my close friends can't go more than 2 days or else her hair just gets really oily. but this is a great product- i'll definitely look into i :)

I (honest to goodness) haven't washed my hair with any kind of product in years. Product testing and weak hair being the primary reasons, but I'll run it under cool water when in the shower and sleep on it. These hair powders keep your hair looking just as good - without the damage done by constant washing. Americans are unhealthily clean!!

oh man, its been months since ive washed my hair in any way. my hair looks so much better unwashed, especially since its short and wavy, so when i do wash it, it poufs up and looks really wierd. not to mention, when you wash your hair too much it strips all the natural oils from it.

I would love to try one of these powders. I have great curly hair that I rarely straighten because although it looks amazing straight it only lasts for two days and i wear a hat to cover the grease bomb on the third... But really guys, months without washing your hair?! My scalp gets bumpy and itchy if I don't wash it every three days. not to mention grossly tangled (curly peril).. how does that work out?

I've never used a product like this, and I'm wondering... I have really dark brunette hair...does this work well only with lighter coloured hair? I imagine that it might make my hair look weird and powdery or like I have dandruff or something equally nasty...then again I've never used it sooo

Allison: it works with both dark and light hair--the powder basically gets absorbed, so after five minutes you should be good to go!

score. good natural shampoo is choking my already tiny budget, plus washing my long wavy hair makes it either fall too flat or frizzy, but it gets terribly oily if i don't wash it even within 24 hours. ha i can't believe i've never heard of tricks like this! any more?
