LOOKBOOK: UNIQLO

LOOKBOOK: UNIQLO

Warm? Check. Cute? Check. Cheap? Check.

There’s a misconception that jackets are a separate entity—that is, what you wear has little to do with what keeps you warm. But it doesn’t have to be that way, as Uniqlo’s spring ’09 lookbook proves.

In it, page after page features another girl mastering another layering look. There are sweaters, tees, ties, and hats piled on in the most incongruous way, and yet it all works. Maybe it’s as simple as broadening your definition of color (yes, purple and green work together, as does an entire outfit in royal blue). Maybe it’s as simple as throwing on a hat (yes, even a baseball cap). Or maybe it’s as simple as finding a puffy jacket that won’t make you look like the Michelin man (yes, you can wrap a scarf outside of your coat). Whatever it is, we want it.

And because it’s Uniqlo, we won’t feel bad when we get it.  Feeling warm, on the other hand, seems quite likely.
