Sookie is sexy, independent, strong, incredibly loving, and respectable! She is the type of woman any decent man would go for. Young girls are impressionable, and need to be exposed to more characters like Sookie. I like Kristen Stewart, but she should learn from Anna Paquin and choose roles for the material, not the stardom.

I think THEY BOTH are very brave. Sookie and Bella are both putting their life in danger and risking everything to be with a vampire. I don't know what brand of V some of you are taking, but Twilight is the farthest thing from good literature. Someone once called it the 'Sarah Palin of literature' and that is incredibly apt. True Blood, based off the far more complex and witty novels by Harris, is just as smoky and gritty as vampires should be. They just shouldn't sparkle, guys.

Bella is way better. Though Sookie is the "stronger" character I think Bella is more realistic. Bella and Edward epitomize true love. Bella may often be scared but it's almost always more for the safety of those she loves and not for herself. I think a real girl would be closer to Bella than Sookie though Sookie is definitely cool and I do love her clothes.

Ok, some people need to get their facts straight. First, Kristen Stewart had never heard of Twilight when she auditioned for the movie, so it was not just for the fame. Second, it's true that Twilight is no literary masterpiece, but it's a good story. Twilight fans love it for the characters, and because it's so easy to read (not every book should be written in lengthy prose). And finally, Bella is a fairly strong person, and while annoying at times, she is pretty brave in the long run (I'd like to see you stand up to a room full of ravenous vampires).

I hate twilight more than anything, anyone who thinks it is legitimate literature or any sort needs reality check, or maybe just a brain.Bella's just an idiot who can't take care of herself and has no definite personality, she's willing to risk her family and friends for some guy and gets married right out of high school. Edward openly admits to stalking her, and though his intentions are well-meant, they end up seeming rather abusive and startingly suffocating for Bella, who is completely willing to kill herself for her man, who constantly has the urge to rip open jer jugular, given the chance. Oh yeah, now this is what all our teens should be reading, I'm really glad our generation's real sharp.

The Sookie Stackhouse series actually came out a full three years before Twilight although I didn't find the Stackhouse series until after I had read Twilight. i wouldn't say one is better than the other. Twilight was written for a much different age group than the Stackhouse series was. I appreciate both for what they are and I'm very excited that some of the spotlight is being shown on Charlaine Harris and her amazing contribution to vamp lit. <333

I have read both books series and honestly the Twilight series is better written and the reason why Bella isn't liked by alot is because her character is well written and she does become stronger at the end. The Sookie stackhouse series isn't as popular as the Twilight series for a reason and that is that girls can honestly live through Bella and relate better to her than Sookie. So Twilight wins big time sorry.

First off, I didn't know who Sookie was until I saw this. Second, Twilight and True Blood are completely different. Yes, they're both about vampires, but still different. The vampires in Twilight are believable, much like the whole entire story. The "Sarah Palin of literature"? Well, I haven't heard that one. But if you actually sit down and read Twilight and the whole series, it is very well written. You feel every emotion the characters have, especially in New Moon. It's obvious that these things were not meant to be compared to one another. I watched a few minutes of True Blood and had to turn it off, it bored me. Stop insulting each other and just accept the damn fact that certain people like different series. If you haven't read Twilight and are hating on it, go pick it up and read the damn thing. Same with whatever series this is, which I haven't read, so I won't judge it.
