Glitter isn't just for drag queens anymore.
It used to be that glitter makeup was only right for strippers, drag queens, and 8th grade girls. But lately, shiny faces have glinted from the runways (thanks, Giles Deacon) to the red carpet (and thank you, Katy Perry).
Desperate to know if shimmer could really work away from Las Vegas, the NYLON crew tested a box (literally) of glitter-infused makeup. Here, our favorites:
1. Cargo's Boogie Night's eyeliner. A subtle way to glint the corners of your eyes. $18 for five.
2. Urban Decay's Heavy Metal kit. A controlled way to coat extreme glitter on your face (removing it is easy, too). $18 each.
3. Avon Shimmer Tips mascara. Their wand safely infuses lashes with metallic silver or gold. $4.95 each.
4. Guerlain Midnight Butterfly spray. An atomizer that releases liquid shimmer powder for your face, hair, and body. $82.

I've always loved make-up, & i was always attracted to glitter make up. as long as you dont over do it, its perfect. i specially love all the urban decay make up, the glitter they have is perfect, im a super fan of heavy metal.

I have glitter eyeliner in black and green... I LOVE it. I mean, I only wear it every once in a while and I don't go over board with it or anything... but still glitter done right is a yes. =)

I wear glitter everyday...it makes me feel good. I like to be the one whose eyes sparkle a little extra! Plus I went around after Halloween buying all the clearance glitter hairspray to wear when I go to the clubs!

My MAC makeup eyeshadows consists of glittery tints,I personally like them but as for the heavy metal one . I'm going for a heavy-ass no.

Fuck yes - that's what I'm talking about! I was wearing glitter back in junior high. Always ended up in my eye somehow by 3rd period though, haha.
I liked Jerome Russel's stuff - what ever happened to that? Toni and Tina has some good shit, as well as Urban Decay.

i use mac pigments-they are the best. and the mascara thing does NOT work, but it would be great if it did. and the heavy metal looks cool...
