Chanel releases its haute new playlist.
When Karl Lagerfeld sent shiny black nail polish down the runway in 2006, every girl from LA to Lexington followed their example. And when they shredded denim minis on their catwalk last season, it suddenly became okay to wear short skirts to formal events, even if you weren't Serena Van Der Woodsen.
But clothes and makeup aren't the only way Chanel flexes its influence - their speakers have just as much heft as their stilettos.
Witness Fall '05, when Karl Lagerfeld blared Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn, and John six months before bars across America did. Or last year, when Cat Power showed up at the Chanel show in Paris and transformed from underground songstress to mainstream singing socialite.
Now Chanel has another list of tracks, played during their Spring '09 show last month. Have a look, and predict which one will soon blare on The Hills...
1. Our House, by Madness
2. Last Tango in Paris, by Willie Rosario
3. Paris is Burning, by Ladyhawke
4. Paris est Brûlee, by Ladyhawke
5. Paris, by Friendly Fires
