MY JEANS COST LESS THAN MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME

MY JEANS COST LESS THAN MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME

$50 skinnies. Merci beaucoup.

We don't love the term "recessionista," but we're all about bargain hunting.

Thankfully, American Eagle is, too.  They just rolled out a new pair of black skinny jeans, and although we first saw them on a male member of an emo band (Mr. Guyliner, you know who you are...), the fit's pretty incredible for girls, too.  Dare we say it - they're butt-lifting.

The jeans cost $49.50, which is a deal that even - cough, gasp, cough - a recessionista would love.

I still say skinnies suck on the majority of figures. Also I don't know how you can call them butt-lifting when your model doesn't even have one.

a little bitter, taryn? just because you can't pull off skinnies doesn't mean you have to knock the rest of us who can. anyway, these aren't even true skinnies, they are more of a straight-leg. and that awful back-pocket embellishment? i'm not feeling them at all. ick.

i love skinny jeans & i love american eagles jeans!

lol I'm certainly not bitter. I'd much rather have natural curves then have to wear skinny jeans to look like I've got em ;)

girls, can we not just love everyone, curves or none? good job finding us cheap jeans nylon, keep it real.

I'm sorry but I've been finding good jeans for UNDER $50 my whole life. Because it makes sense, not just because of a recession. I beleive in one or two pairs of really nice jeans (ex. 7 For All Mankind). But, expensive denim doesn't have to make up your entire wardrobe.

Yeah i get some reaaly great $20 jeans. so $50 would be a splurge for me. i read the "recessionista" article. i hate sarah palin.

somebody said something about "natural curves" if that means ur fat, loose weight. skinny jeans aren't supposed to "create curves" they are just a style of jeans. there is a difference between thin, curvy, and fat. thin is like stick. curvy is normal. and fat is overweight in any way. as long as u are a healthy weight...GOOD JOB!

yeah, jeans could never be worth more than thirty-ish dollars. sorry.

American Eagle is good for some things (like their rockin' v-neck shirts they had this summer!). But jeans isn't one of them. I've gotten a few pairs but they've never really lived up to the standard of "perfect jeans," and believe me! Perfect jeans are out there! I actually prefer the Bullhead Venice skinnies from Pacific Sunwear. You get two pairs for $55 and they are eco-friendly and sweatshop free! :D They're a great find and they look fabulous on every body type (unless you're like Taryn and don't really dig the style; then they'll never look good to you)! Seriously, check them out! I get compliments every time I wear my Bullhead skinnies! :D

hmm, I've never bought jeans for that much... the most I spend is under $30 on jeans... but I love love love skinny jeans! and to meghan: lol, I hate sarah Palin too, haha *alaskin accent* "you betcha!"

1) holy frick you guys are bitchy to each other 2) i think these jeans look great and all, but i have found great jeans at H&M for only like $30, so i wouldn't waste my time on these, no matter how "butt-lifting" they are. 3) you don't have to be a certain size to pull of skinnes, you just have to have confidence and think you look good, other wise you'll just feel crappy no matter what. i wear skinnies on a daily basis practically and im no barbie.

I don't get why perfect strangers want to rag on each other for no reason. nasty. But anyway, everyone go buy your jeans at F21. You can't beat a longlasting, flattering fit/wash for 12$. I used to do the 100+ dollar jeans at Nordstrom thing, but then I figured out that accessories and cute tops are way more fun, anyway. :-)

I'm all for Forever 21. When I don't have to spend a lot on jeans, I can spend more on those large chandelier earrings and the mini-dresses that Edie and Twiggy popularized in the 60s. Viva la Vintage!

sweet deal. they look cute. wonder if their sizes will fit me now? they never seemed to like petites.

LMAO at the first comment. Skinny jeans definitely flatter a wide variety of figures. 50 dollars seems like a lot to me for jeans, I pay like, 20 usually for mine and they look exactly the same.

i so wish that i could pull the super skinny look off, but you know it shows EVERYTHING & i highly doubt people want to see that much & i dont want to scare people away : but great price!

LOVE THESE! They look so comfortable! AE's Skinny 77 is my FAVORITE out of all their jeans. I have like 2 pairs and they look FAB! Skinny jeans are so versatile when it comes to dressing up, looking edgy, looking innocent, looking urban, etc. etc.--it all comes down to what type of top it's matched with. I'm really glad that it isn't that awful flare thing anymore cuz it just looks so messy and they always drag and end up brown with giant holes--making it shorter would just look strange too--you can't win! For me--it's either the straight leg or skinnies.I hate looking like a saggy slob and these make me look a lot cleaner.

btw, even skinny girls with small butts want some lift in the trunk. What is the problem? And I definitely do not wear it to get curves---that defeats my love for skinnies.

1. One heart because this is Nylon so i will give some slack. But, who really thought these pants would be THAT great, when at the bottom of the article is an ae.com link? - Cheap Monday's on a side note, are the only true skinny jean HANDS DOWN. 2. Who cares what body type people are? As a fashionista you should have the confidence to rock anything you wear reguardless. 3. The skinny jean look isn't hard to pull off if people are realistic and cautious of their body type and what is 'flattering' or not. 4. All the immature bashery on each other should be embarrassing and on Nylon's site for fucks sake! How dare you taint this! If you cannot uphold yourselves, atleast respect Nylon!

FAR from cheap. ive never paid more than 30 for a pair of jeans, and have had some pretty amazing pairs.

The jeans are okay, nothing to be too excited about. Then again, AE really isn't my thing. I prefer...more unique clothes. Taryn, if you can't do skinny's, try a straight-leg or boot-cut fit. They're more flattering. Also, watch what rinse you're wearing. Darker rinses are infinitely more flattering.
