Pepper: Good on your food, better on your skin?
That’s what you’d think, judging by the number of pepper-infused beauty products we’ve received at the NYLON HQ in the past few weeks.
Bliss’s latest fragrance is blood orange and white pepper, a fresh combination that smells better than you think. Molton Brown makes use of black pepper’s energizing capabilities in its body wash and body soother. The scent is a bit strong (it’s for guys, after all), but it’s nothing compared to Kings & Queens’s King of Sumatra pepper bergamot products; your skin may feel smooth as butter after, but you run the risk of confusing it with the A1 sauce in your kitchen cabinet.
Although the results may be hit-or-miss, there is actual scientific research backing up this burgeoning trend—it’s said to help cure everything from insomnia to insect bites to tooth decay.
No word yet on whether it can serve as a lunch replacement.
