HOW SWEET IT IS

HOW SWEET IT IS

Happy Rosh Hashanah! Now spread some apples and honey all over your face.

To celebrate the Gregorian New Year, we watch the ball in Times Square drop. To celebrate the Chinese New Year, we gift red packets. And to celebrate the Jewish New Year, which begins today, we eat apples and honey.

The Rosh Hashanah combination symbolizes the sweet year to come, but it got us thinking about the other powers this duo has, particularly when it comes to our beauty routine.

Apples are said to promote hair growth and prevent wrinkles, which may be why it’s used in products by our favorite beauty brands, like Fresh and philosophy. Similarly, honey has been used as more than just a tea condiment for thousands of years—Cleopatra is said to have relied on a milk and honey bath to keep her skin glowing.

We rounded up our favorite apple and honey products to help ring in the new year; here’s to a year full of joy, happiness, and plenty of pretty faces.

Speaking of which I actually just got back from my Rosh Hashana Services, when we were little they would teach us this song the lyrics were something along the lines of "eatin' apples and honey isn't it funny? Eatin' apples and honey!" something like that. I love that you guys made this atricle often Jewish holidays (not including Channuka) are over looked. Love the article! Keep doing what you do!
