I could tell you that Cargo’s new beauty brand, PlantLove, is entirely natural (that means no parabens, phthalates, petro-chemicals, or other hard to pronounce ingredients). Or that the packaging is completely compostable, since it’s made out of corn. Or even that it’s the only line at Sephora to have the hard-to-get EcoCert seal of approval.
But honestly, when it comes to makeup all that really matters is how it looks on. And that’s where PlantLove is most impressive. The 18 shades of eye shadow are hyper-pigmented, so you get a thick coating of color that doesn’t fade throughout the day, and the lip glosses are infused with karanja, grape seed, and sweet almond oils, so they moisturize your lips without being sticky.
But the real winner is the Baked Illuminator; with its marbleized mixture of blush, bronzer, and highlighter, it’s pretty to look at and even prettier on. And, oh yeah, it keeps the environment pretty too.
