L’EAU NATURALE

L’EAU NATURALE

L’Artisan Parfumeur's new L’Eau de Jatamansi is a fetching fragrance, and it's eco-friendly too.

The French are as famous for their designer scents as they are infamous for, ahem, sometimes not wearing them. So while Paris-based L’Artisan Parfumeur has received accolades for its evocative eau de toilettes, that the brand’s new perfume touts all naturalness—and is named after an organic plant called the Himalayan Nard, no less—is enough to make one wonder just what end of the fragrance spectrum it falls. L’Eau de Jatamansi (the Sanskrit name for Nard, and needless to say a less offensive-sounding moniker), however, is a fetching blend of the wild plants, essential oils, and other eco-friendly ingredients that comprise L’Artisan’s newish Jatamansi Organic Collection. With notes of bergamot, ylang-ylang, and Indian papyrus at its heart, L’Eau de Jatamansi’s patchouli accents are forgiven, and Parisians and the rest of the world should spritz on at will.
