WE'RE ALL CONNECTED

WE'RE ALL CONNECTED

A new art show in L.A. is a real head trip.

If you think that the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a joke, you may want to stay away from Somehow, We All Seem Connected. The gallery show, which is at L.A.’s Subliminal Projects through September 19, uses works by Steven Harrington and Justin Krietemeyer to prove that human connectivity is a fact of life.

For Krietemeyer, it’s all about collage techniques and neon colors, while Harrington’s folk-inspired screen prints are evocative of early ‘70s rock posters. But despite their seemingly disparate artistic styles, both utilize the human body as a means of creating movement and geometric shapes.

It’s not the first time they’ve worked together; as the creative duo behind National Forest Design, Harrington and Krietemeyer made eye-catching graphics for Burton and Death Cab for Cutie. But with their fourth collaborative art exhibit, the duo hopes that their works, when taken as a whole, will help soothe the mind rather than cause a visual overload. Because spin art on its own can make the head, well, spin.
