SPONGEBOB SQUAREPAINT
He's a sponge, a cartoon character, and now, a nail polish color.
For a guy who lives under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants is quite the fashion muse.
6-year-old girls wear him like a badge of honor on tank tops, Marc Jacobs got him tattooed onto his bicep, and now Rescue Beauty Lounge has named its pre-fall polish colors after the Nickelodeon cartoon.
The nail trio includes a soft coral, a milky blue, and a pastel yellow, called “Star Fish Patrick”, “Bikini Bottom”, and “Square Pants”, respectively. Even though they name check the underwater animals, the colors are anything but adolescent—they’re more seashell than Saturday morning cartoon.
And although the nail polishes will have you thinking of summer by the beach long after the leaves have turned brown, the big question remains: Despite being endorsed by one of fashion’s biggest designers, is SpongeBob a worthy beauty icon?

i love it! i'm a huge spongebob fan, i've loved him for a long time.
all the colors are gorgeous, especially the blue.
why not have spongebob-inspired nailpolish? i think it's a great idea.

I am a bit spectacle about not the name and stuff, but the price of one of those teenie weenie bottles, seeing as OPI has a lot of those same colors for only $8 or $9, and they are a really good brand.

I hate spongebob. I can't watch more than a few minutes without my brain melting. But yeah, I really don't like those colors, they're too pastely. I agree with Kelso about the price, it's really expensive for such a tiny bottle. When I was in middle school I used to spend $1 on those size bottles at claires. Also, what exactly is Pre-Fall, isn't that just, Summer. Or if it is for like the early fall season, those are too light and summery to wear in the fall.

I once saw Whitney from The Hills wearing the milky blue one and I absolutely loved it. The other colours are pretty nice too but, seriously, 18 dollars ? I wouldn't pay 18 dollars for a nail polish.. I'm not rich, you know.

I think the colors are very interesting but they aren't very Spongebob-esque. Spongebob Squarepants is known for the bright colors. These are, as it has been agreed upon, more pastel shades. The price is outrageous, too. You are better off buying something inexpensive and being creative on your own.
